Lee Morrell
President/Founder
With more than 20 years in public relations and another ten as a journalist, Lee Morrell had an idea. "Why not," he thought, "help businesses with limited budgets simplify their communications needs by providing a one-stop shop that has the ability to fill all needs?"
That idea turned into LM Communications, a shop designed to provide PR, media relations and both written and social content for all needs.
Lee's lengthy experience in PR and editorial began in college as a writer/editor for the award-winning Wilkes University Beacon. A career in journalism became a reality, when he took simulataneous jobs at WBRE-TV (as a weekend producer) and the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader (as a general assignment reporter).
After several years doing both, Lee moved to Los Angeles, where he became a PR professional, spending time at a number of agencies, from large to small, with an impressive list of clients that read like a who's who: Playmates Toys, LA Gear, Yamaha Motorsports, Southwest Airlines, Canon, Earl Scheib, SEMA, Hot Rod and Motor Trend Magazines, Nissan and Microsoft.
These successes led Lee to start his own shop, John Q. Public Relations, which was designed to provide full-service PR to small clients.
When an opportunity to join a start-up became too good to turn away, Lee helped launch TrueCar, as its Director of Public Relations, where he created and built all of the online auto company's social media content, as well as its blog.
Following a few other tech start-ups, LMC was born to provide a service that many smaller companies might not hire for, but they budget for and clearly need.
Originally from the Northeast, Lee settled into Southern California more than 20 years ago...where he met his California girl and, along with an amazing daughter, 2 dogs and 2 cats, he is really living happily ever after.
"You have your specialty, we have ours...let us do what we do best to free you up to do what you do best."
